The 4th Community Chest Wheelock Swim for Millions
A Fun Day For Everyone!
Back by popular demand, the 2016 version of The Community Chest Wheelock Swim for Millions will be held for the 4th consecutive year on Sunday 30 October at the Repulse Bay Beach from 9am to 1pm.
New category: Not a race – 'Swim for Fun'
To make it a great day out for everyone, the 2016 event features a new category – *'Swim for Fun' – labelled as 'Not a race!', participants just have to swim 100m at their own pace without being timed, and they can bring their swimming rings too! For safety reasons, children under 12 should be accompanied by parent / guardian – the minimum donation HK$450 per entry applies to the accompany persons.
The novel idea comes from the creative minds of the 2016 Event Organising Committee led by Chairman Dr Douglas C K Woo, JP, Co-Chairmen: Mr Stephen Fung and Mr Stanley Sun, and two new Co-Chairmen: Mr Weber Lo and Mr Jonathan Zeman, with contribution from title sponsor Wheelock and Company Limited for the 4th consecutive year, and major sponsors Circle K and Stride Rite both for the 3rd consecutive year, Citi, and Lan Kwai Fong Group.

About The Community Chest of Hong Kong
The Community Chest of Hong Kong was established in 1968 as an independent, non-profit making organisation neither funded, nor operated by the Government. Each year, the Chest organises fund-raising events to benefit over 150 member social welfare agencies that reach out to more than two million beneficiaries in Hong Kong. The Chest’s administrative expenses come from a subsidised grant from The Hong Kong Jockey Club, in addition to income from investments. This allows the Chest to allocate 100% of funds raised to charitable use; this operations model makes the Chest unique among its peers, and helps fulfil its mission to act as trustee of the donors.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club, our Partner in charity, generously supports The Community Chest of Hong Kong in helping to subsidise our expenses, thereby enabling 100% of the donations to be allocated to over 150 member social welfare agencies from six major areas of services: children & youth, elderly, family & child welfare, medical & health, rehabilitation & aftercare, and community development.
